Slides from Wendy Young’s talk
An enthusiastic audience turned up to welcome Wendy Young, Christian Aid Education and Church Development Officer from the Glasgow Office, when she visited Colinton in October. The Swing provided an ideal venue, with the addition of home made Sangria and fairly traded snacks to welcome over 30 people.
Wendy shared with great passion and clarity her experiences of a recent field trip to Columbia and Peru, where she met with inspirational partners working in extremely challenging conditions. Many of Christian Aid’s partners are defending human rights and these social activists are in fear of imprisonment, threats and even death.
Wendy remained positive and hopeful, reflecting the commitment of those in Columbia and Peru, fighting for the poorest.
